Description of DC Devun Walsh Signature Model Snowboard:
When you hop on the DC Devun Walsh Signature Model Snowboard you make a decision to pop over the fence to greener pastures. DC’s HKD (Honeycomb Kevlar Directional) board is the lightest and most responsive in DC’s arsenal. This all-mountain directional twin tip features the Phantom core, which combines honeycomb and laminated wood reinforced with carbon and Kevlar. Sound tough? Damn right it’s tough, and it absorbs shocks and dampens vibrations too. How bout dem apples? DC added a bombproof laminate and a fast-as-fook sintered base, just in case you weren’t convinced that Devun Walsh’s signature ride is the shhiiiiiiiiiiit.

Bottom Line: The DC Devun Walsh Signature Model Snowboard turns haters into believers.

When I bought the board I had read some bad things - the boards break the finish cracks, the bottom sticks to the snow, ect - and I was super nervous. But you know the story, it was a great buy on brociety and i had looked at the tech info on the HKD before and been interested. So i held off till i had ridden the board a day before posting a review. ia m coming from a Burton Cascade 165 to the DW HKD 158. Opening day on Mt Hood Meadows was fairly epic. Groomers, wood runs and tons of pow in my stashes. I dont ride rails, do a backside anything or jib much. I did ride all that was available, popped a few tree stumps and such and hit a little air up to 3-4 feet. The board handles like a dream on pow. Carves like a hot knife through buttter. It was a little slow when tossing it around through the trees, but definitely functional. I had given the board an excessive hot wax so on the groomers it was fast, very fast. After all this, a good long day, I brought the board home and inspected it. I picked up a couple dings from trees but that happens. I also got a couple small scratches on the finish. No cracking, no breaking, no sticking. Obviously I cant say it wont happen, but I believe that it will be fine. I love this board. It floats almost as well as burton through powder and does everything else better. I paired it with some Flow M9 bindings and the pair kept me happy all day long. Recommend this? H3ll YES. As others have said this is not a park, jibbing board. Anyone who thinks otherwise cant read.

amazing board to ride on handles fantastically and hands down the best board ive ridden. EVER! but it didnt last after about 4 weeks riding on it i got some pressure cracks a week after that they were all the way across the board behind the back binding and a couple of days after that landing a 65fter a bit flat the board snapped on the tail where the cracks were and also behind the front binding. which was the weirdest thing ive seen. however i still stand by dc as it was the best board ive ridden and dc are very new in the board making business. hopefully they have fixed up a few of the defects and the '10 model will be awesome i know i'll get 158 aswell as my replaced 153 cause it was the best
