When it comes to wearing denim when you snowboard, you have several options. Option A: Yank on yer Wranglers and ride. Pros: Heading straight from the rodeo to the slopes. Cons: Frozen asscrack. Option B: Saran Wrap. Pros: Inexpensive waterproofing. Cons: Sliding off the chair lift. Option C: Snag a pair of the DC Men's Denier-D Snowboard Pants. They're denim, waterproof, and breathable, and they won't violate your bank account. DC gave the Denier D Pants inseam zips for A/C when you heat up hiking the pipe.
I just got them and I like the feel I'm still a little scared about them clogging with snow like regular denim. they feel really nice and light when they are on and they have a baggy feel to them at least to me. they kinda have a boot cut to them like actual jeans. the pockets are nice with zippers in the front but the back ones are Velcro which kinda worry me about putting anything in them. but jackets have so much space anyway. the vents are large and look like they would have a good flow through them. the cut on the bottom is a little weird because it cuts up in the back (probably for some reason that has to do with the bindings?). The waist is nice and comfy but for sizing chart it is a little misleading. The size that out would wear in jeans will fit around your waist NOT your hips. so for those of us that like to sag them a bit move up a size. (I know I will). I'm a 32 in jeans and I'm about to exchange them for a large that should be for 36" and up. if you are worried about them being too big they have the Velcro waistband straps on the inside so you can adjust them.
Hope i answered everything that you were wondering about. I know I'm excited to rock them this winter
These pants are exceeded all my expectations. My office has a "jeans Fridays" policy so I thought it'd be cool to pick up a pair of denim snowboard pants that I could wear to the office and then straight to the mountain without changing. I'll be honest, I was a little shaky buying 5k waterproof pants in wet ol' Washington, and the day I decided to try my from work to mountain routine out it was one of the wettest of the season. I fully expected to be soaked at the end of the day, but to my delight I left the mountain almost as dry as I went on it. Very impressed.
Style-wise I get a lot of compliments on them as if they were just jeans. When I tell people they're snowboard pants they're absolutely amazed. Great pickup on brosciety for 40 bones, and not the least bit disappointed.
nice looking pants, fit more on the baggy side. however the waterproofing didn't last long at all on them, after about 4 sessions my bum was all soaked up. also the back part of the pant leg rides up super high, doesnt look to sharp. got a lot of looks and complements when i wore these, but not worth one penny.
