Description of CAPP3L Wellington Jacket - Men's: |
 |
You may not have claim to a dukedom, or even have a couch to crash on, but with the CAPP3L Men’s Wellington Jacket you get enough style to fake it. This waterproof shred jacket is insulated to keep you warm on the hill, and features large chest and hand pockets where you can stash the tools of your trade. CAPP3L always finds a way to make outerwear different from the rest, and it added removable inner sweater cuffs to the Wellington Jacket, so even though you may not be a duke you can still feel like one.
Bottom Line: Waterproof outerwear from CAPP3L that's worthy of a duke.

| I haven't even had the jacket for a month and its already showing wear and tear. yes, ive been wearing it every day in utah this winter but it hasnt even been a month! and i've only been riding in it 4 times. Nothing on the outside but the buttons with the sweater sleeves, zipper lining, and some of the pocket stitching has come undone.
I contacted Ride thru email, since thats there only method of cust service and they just replied with a "did you look at the faq site? talk to your dealer." Are you serious? They could use a lesson or two from Backcountry for sure.
Unfortunately, now they're all out of the jacket color so i'll have to see what Ride can do for me since I love this model. the problem seems to be mainly the stitching on the inside of the jacket. its poorly done. Everything else is still fine. Not surprisingly, the Cappel Beanie is also pretty weak, its getting fuzzier and lighter every day. Great style and comfort but bad workmanship. Lets hope it was just this one jacket. |

| Only one minor thing I would have changed and that would have been to increase the size of the main hand pockets, that's it. This jacket is amazing, no wonder it's not discounted at all, it's worth every cent. I returned the Burton AK2 Cyclic I had just purchased that's the same price and picked up this Onyx Black one instead. If you're looking for a street styled snowboarding jacket thats not baggy and can also be used around town then def check out CAPP3L, Ride's premium clothing line. Both the Onyx Black and Khaki have subtle horizontal and vertical stripes that add major style points, similar to the Scott Spectre Goretex jacket but not as apparent. I really liked the look of the Opal Weave as well, its more brown and white than the pics show and if my pants weren't black already, I probably would have picked that color instead. (Team it with the CAPP3L Opal White Lennox Pants for a sick combo, IMO)
It zips up really high for max neck/chin coverage, the goggle pocket with silk lined goggle bag even includes a suede lens wiper! A mesh pocket to hold your removable pow skirt, pocket key holder, removable 'sweater' wrist gaiter's, and see-thru taped media pocket are all extra nice touches. 100% polyester shell with 70/30 poly/nylon for the model-clad liner. (Don't leave the jacket alone with your friends...) 3M Thinsulate insulation is great, I wore a LS thermal with my fav tee over it while it was snowing and blowing in Utah and I was still toasty, even without the hoody on. Now you know a jacket is warm when you don't even have to pull on the hoody and part of that reason is due to the higher luxuriously soft microsueded area thats ~7 inches of the top of the inside. Just don't be surprised to find people staring at you when you start cuddling with yourself. The removable hood's freakin huge, definitely helmet compatible.
I'm 6'1 with a 40" chest, 35" sleeve and 32" waist and I ended up getting the medium for a slimmer cut even tho I could've gone with the Large as well for a more relaxed fit. The Wellington quickly replaced my Salomon 3in1 that I had shed for so many years. Get this jacket...get the looks and compliments. |
