Description of Columbia Diamonte Parka - Women's: |
 |
The three-in-one Columbia Women’s Diamonte Parka has you covered no matter what winter has in store for you. This ski shell’s 10K-rated waterproof fabric protects you from powder and falling snow. Lightweight insulation in the Diamonte’s shell holds onto your body heat and stands alone when temps are anything above frigid. During the depths of winter, wear the Diamonte’s fleece snap-in liner underneath the shell to stop teeth from chattering. The fleece works well around town or on warm spring days when the snow hasn’t yet turned to slush.
Bottom Line: A parka for nearly any conditions you’ll encounter on the ski slopes.

| A Nice Jacket 11-12-09 |

| All in all, its a good Jacket. Its the nicest jacket I've ever owned. I actually took it out hiking on a mountain side in October with a crazy cold wind, and it kept me warm. There are some pit falls though.
My jacket wasn't really fully seam sealed. I took it out in a decent rain a couple of times, and it leaks on the left arm where the embroidered design is. But Backcountry is going to replace it for me. :)
The inner lining is a kind of soft, furry material. I'm not especially a fan of it, but it is what it is. Also, The liner doesn't have any pockets on the outside front, which makes me sad. And its very fitted. I'm a size 12, and it doesn't really leave a lot of room to wear any kind of sweater under it or long sleeve shirt. Which perhaps is the point, that you would use it as a sweater. Another issue I have is that the liner snaps in. I didn't really know what that meant at first, so I figured it wouldn't be much different from a zip in liner. However, it is. Its only connected by three snaps. One at the nape of the neck, and then one at each wrist. I wouldn't buy another jacket with a snap in liner, its too much hassle. You have to unzip both your jacket and your liner each time you take it off. And last, but not least, I can't seem to get the liner to stop shedding fuzzies all over everything it touches. I've washed it, and it still seems to do no good.
All in all, I love the Jacket (with the exception of the leak), but I don't care for the liner. |

| The jacket definitely keeps you warm! Not having the inner jacket attached to the outer one, is a nuisance. Only good for skiing, not to be on & off frequently. |

| Hey, I really like this 3-1 jacket but the colors.. wish the black has a little white, or the other jackets have a bit of black. I have all black pants so I wanted my jacket to blend a little.. oh well.. |
