Description of Columbia Prism Parka - Women's: |
The Columbia Women's Prism Parka comes with a removable puffy liner jacket, which creates a 3-in-1 system suited to any conditions you might encounter on your ski vacation. On cold, stormy days use the shell and liner together and flip up the hood to stay dry and warm. On cold, bluebird days, wear the liner alone. If conditions get wet and sloppy during the day, switch to the shell—its 10K water-resistant fabric will protect you from wet, slushy snow. If the temperature continues to increase, zip open this Columbia Jacket's pit-zips to let some heat out. Store your digital camera in the Prism Parka's inner security pocket, and your sunglasses in the large inner goggle pocket when you take a break in the lodge.
Bottom Line: With almost as many features than a fully-loaded SUV, the Columbia Prism Parka can handle whatever weather you encounter on your next vacation.

Columbia Prism Parka - Women's 09-20-07

Great jacket, can't wait for the winter to wear it. The sizes seem to run on the small side. I normally wear a medium but had to exchange it for a large. No problem returning it. Love your store.

I fell in love with this parka online and couldn't wait to try it on at the store... well, I was totally bummed because as gorgeous and full of great details as this parka is, they overlooked a pretty big one in my book: the liner doesn't zip in!!! I found that very disappointing and annoying. I tend to wear a size Large or XL in Columbia jackets and coats, and this one fit well in a L but it looked really bulky and tight when I zipped it up, not to mention the fact that I hated having to zip up the liner first, then the shell... if I want to do that, why buy a 3-in-1 coat? There is basically no difference between the Prism Shell they sell by itself and the Prism Parka outer shell, if that makes sense. Hoping the design team at Columbia improves this detail next Fall so this parka can move back to the top of my wishlist. I wound up buying the Alpen Rose Parka which is a true 3-in-1, feels really light, fits great and doesn't look bulky at all.

I have used this jacket for a full winter, half in the States and half in Norway where it is quite cold. I love all the pockets for my camera, iPod, etc. The shell is nice to have on those misty and rainy days. For some reason I thought the jacket would be wind proof, but it is not quite. So make sure to wear thermal layers underneath on those especially windy days! I totally recommend this jacket!
