Can a jacket have the stretch and breathability of a softshell, the uncompromising weather protection of a hardshell, and still weigh only 10 ounces? If it’s the Cloudveil Men’s BPM Jacket it can. This ultralight 2.5-layer shell uses knit construction with its waterproof breathable fabric to allow for dynamic stretch when you’re moving fast in uncertain weather conditions. An athletic cut, half-elastic cuffs, and tricot-lined collar add a finishing touch to the featherweight package.
Not one complaint about the BPM, it is an all around great jacket. Very lightweight, so not an ideal shell for winter sports or holding in warmth, however it is amazing for running and backpacking. It completely shuts out any wind - I run on the beach down in Charleston, SC and this thing keeps out 20 mile an hour gusts rolling off the ocean easy. Just ran a 5k in the rain and kept me completely dry. You will sweat in it, but the breathablity is just fine for when your not doing aerobics.Went skiing last week up in Cataloochee resort and wore this. Temp was above freezing and it rained the entire day off and on, this jacket kept me bone dry and cut the wind great.Highly recommended. I am 6 foot and about 195, the large is a loose fit for me, so you probably want to size down (I have a thick chest and back for my size too).
big cloudveil fan and love their products. this jacket didnt disappoint. the jacket may be a bit big in the chest, but it fit me pretty well. i love the stretch knit fabric and find this piece really versatile. it packs down tightly and goes in nearly any pack i take on the trail or to the crag
Fabric is super lightweight, waterproof and stops wind. Fit through torso disappointingly wide and a bit long. Sleeves are short. I'm a very consistent medium, and have a number of other Cloudveil jackets that fit differently and better- more trim in the torso, and with longer sleeves. Oh well. Still like the fabric.
