Cloudveil designed the Men's Cool Board Short as a relaxed, longer alternative to traditional river shorts, and to replace your khaki cutoffs with the hole in the crotch. Wicking, DWR-treated Cool Touch fabric dries quickly after a soaking in the Weber or the Gauley, while a plethora of secure pockets keep track of fly boxes and other essentials. Wide belt loops and a regular fly front mean the Cool Board Short rolls into 43 North for a drink as nonchalantly as it rolls off the raft.

These fit best on a fit person. Wore these on hike into Grand Canyon. Swam in them in a pinch, dried super fast. Very light yet durable. Waistband is chamois lined, nice touch. Six pockets, 2 hand open, 2 rear zippered and 2 on lower leg with Velcro tab closure. I say use a zipper instead of Velcro. Overall a great short. Comfortable throughout for me since I'm wearing for intended use. These have worked in most restaurants since you won't look like a mountain man. Oh, the colors are OK too.
Well I do like these quite a bit but the thing is that I enjoy a looser fit. I think that these will be great for the camping trips because they are light weight and pack small. What I am not to happy about is the trim fit on my thighs. It is not to bad but I like room to move freely. These are a bit tight on my legs and don't allow for any high kicks or big steps. Great pair of shorts but I am not a fan of the cut on these. I think that they need a gusseted crotch so that there is more freedom of movement.
