The Cloudveil Men's Koven Pant is a lightweight hardshell offering complete weather protection. Most shells function at a damage-control level where they only begin to breathe effectively after you raise the humidity inside your clothing by sweating. The Koven Pants' waterproof Cloudburst Stretch EV3 fabric breathes before excessive sweating happens, making it less likely that you'll overheat. Fully sealed seams, internal gaiters, and waterproof zippers keep the wet from coming in, while the extremely breathable fabric and full side zippers keep the sweat moving out. Cloudveil updated the Koven Ski Pants with an overflow cargo pocket that can store sunscreen or an afternoon snack.
Bottom Line: After one ski trip in the Cloudveil Koven Pants, you'll feel like other waterproof shell pants are trying to suffocate you.
If you've been shopping around for a hardshell pant, look no further. These pants are amazing. They have a great fit for a variety of body types. The waist is somewhat high, but not uncomfortably so and it just serves to keep the snow out better. The fabric has a softer, stretchier, more comfortable feel than comparable pants, but I feel invincible when I put them on. I don't think you'll find a better value in a hardshell pant. These are worth every penny.
About as near perfect as you could want in a ski pant. They are light and easy to maneuver in on the slopes or apres ski. The quality is amazing (all the seams and zippers are sealed). The suspenders are a huge plus for keeping your pants from sagging as the day wears on. I have been skiing as an adult for about 10 seasons and these are by far the best ski pants I've ever owned.
These pants have exactly the right combination of features for me: full zipper vents, burly waterproof hard shell, awesome breathability, indestructible waterproof zippers, built in suspenders, logical and USEFUL pockets, and a great fit that flatters my ass but loose enough in the leg to keep the ladies from being intimidated by my giant skin-track dominating quads. Ahem, I mean they fit really well. I like the way they ride high on the waist to keep the pow out but aren't suffocating like full bibs. For this level of awesomeness the price is quite nice, too. If I ever manage to wear them out, I will gladly buy another pair.
