Description of Chaco Suntrail Leather Hiking Shoe - Women's:
The Chaco Women’s Suntrail Leather Hiking Shoes take you from work to trail without missing a step. Chaco made the Suntrails to be as comfortable and supportive as its signature sandals, which means these shoes’ footbeds fit the contours of your feet, help control over-pronation, and give you lateral stability. Soft, water-resistant suede uppers break in fast. Speed lacing makes bow-tying obsolete, and Getagrip rubber outsoles give you traction on city and backcountry terrain alike.
Bottom Line: You’ll want to wear these shoes every day.
I found these shoes to be comfortable, but much less roomy than I expected. The lacing system made it really tough to get the shoe over my feet. I needed to order in a larger size, where as with the sandals I always wear in a smaller size. I wore them for a day and then returned them, and in that one day I got many compliments on the shoes. They are cute.
These are great light treking shoes. I purchased the shoes for those trips you aren't necessarily doing heavy hiking but need some type of shoe that can take the wear of long hours of walking. Great support and comfort. The only issue that I find with the shoes is that after wearing the shoes for 8-10 hours, I can feel the shoes pinching in at the sides. I have never been known to have wide feet, so I'm unsure as to why this happens. Either way, great looking shoe for great comfort and price.
These are exactly like wearing the sandals. The arch support is excellent, even on really long hikes. They're lightweight but supportive. My only gripe is the speed lacing, but it seems to be a trend right now. It often makes getting thick socks into shoes quite difficult. I see the appeal for kids, but it's not always desireable for grownups. Still, great shoes. And true to size.
