Description of Chaco Redrock Leather Hiking Shoe - Men's:
Inspired by the scenic trails of the Southwest’s canyon country, the Chaco Men’s Redrock Leather Hiking Shoe provides comfort and stability on everything from crumbling rock scrambles to muddy, washed-out trails. The water-resistant suede and nubuck upper shrugs off light moisture and trail debris, while allowing your foot to breathe during hot, high-mileage days. Chaco also added a BioCentric footbed to control pronation, an EVA midsole for cushion, and a rigid nylon shank for support on uneven terrain. The Redrock’s Tech Dri lining comes from sustainable bamboo to add quick drying, moisture wicking and antimicrobial properties.
Bottom Line: A technical hiker that can pass for a casual shoe.
I work for the park service and do a ton of backcountry hiking. I've had these since may and have they have done well. the rubber is good and sticky on slick rock. the soles started out great, fairly stiff, good for going over lots of uneven/rocky terrain. however I have recently noticed that they are getting pretty soft under the ball of my foot. the chaco arch support is there and then some. I'd say it's a little bit more arch support than their sandals. I like it, some may not. the leather has been durable, and the perforations really help them breathe. they were pretty comfortable in 100+ weather. the uppers are coming unsewn on one small spot. overall, I like them. I got the "nutbrown," color, and they have a classic old timey style that looks pretty good
Excellent sole comfort, and arch support, although it took me about 2 weeks to build up a heel callous strong enough not to blister... I had to get through it though, they are too comfy, i ordered a pair of the mesh soon after because i started wearing these to work.. I do wish my heel hadn't been so messed up though...
