Bomb the periphery when you wear the Burton Ronin Flank Jacket. While others stick to the groomers, the Flank helps you slice up the trees, steeps, and cliffs at the outer edge of the mountain. Waterproof-breathable fabric and fully taped seams repel moisture like a bullet-proof vest, and at the request of its riders, Burton’s Sig Fit adds a little extra length to the bottom of this Ronin piece. A waist gaiter keeps snow from blowing up and in and a Countour hood takes you undercover as you assault the gnarliest terrain. - Fall 2008.
Bottom Line: When the mountain militia takes position, assume the Flank.
Just got this jacket, It's really awesome! I ran the sleeve under the kitchen faucet..water just bounces off lol. only one minor drawback..I normally wear M shirts, and I heard these run a little bit large so I bought a small. when I tried it on, even the small is a little bit too big.
First of all, this jack has NO insulation. So be prepared to spend some $$ on good under layers. At first, I did not like this jacket for that reason. The first day at the hill with it the weather was 28 with freezing rain. Everybody with me was soaked from the lift drips and rain, but I was bone dry. This thing repels water like a duck. That said.... you need lots of layers on underneath it to stay warm in anything under 10 degrees.
