Description of Burton Roll Softshell Jacket - Men's:
The Burton Men's Roll Softshell Jacket will become your go-to fleece. Polartec Wind Bloc Softshell fabric makes this softshell an ideal outer layer for mild days, or a sleek insulating layer when the mercury drops. Softness and increased breathability give the Burton Roll Jacket the advantage over a hard shell on mild, windy days. If the temperature plummets when you're on the lift, pull out this Burton fleece's hideaway hood for a little extra warmth. Dual handwarmer pockets warm cold hands while a welded chest pocket stores smaller items. *Available for US Shipment Only. - Fall 2007.
Bottom Line: Whether you're making laps in the park or hiking to a fresh stash, don the Burton Roll Softshell for soft, wind-proof warmth.
This jacket is fantastic if you're willing to shell out the money. For the price you could get some really warm jacket from some other company... But that's if you're not me (or like me). This jacket is mainly meant for insulation under one of the other Burton hardshells (AK-Turbine is my choice). By itself it makes a great jacket for mild days. It also sports some of the most hi-tech fabrics you can find on a softshell, and it fits like a glove (literally). This is tech gear! Don't buy this if you expect it to be 3 sizes too big, the fit is snug, and overwhelmingly comfortable, and you almost immediately feel the insulation starting to work. The design is simplistic, but beautiful, and there probably isn't a better softshell out there... if you plan on being active. (well there might be, but they're probably made by Burton, and in the same AK line as this one, if you're looking for more looks and comfort, go for the Sluff fleece)
pretty cool looking except for the hood. When out, the plastic hood cheapens the whole thing. When tucked in, it felt too puffy around my neck.It seemed warm enough, but for the price there are better buys.

$150-$200 for Windbloc?! 12-29-08

Burton designers need to get their heads examined. Windbloc is a low-end fabric selling for $50-$100 at places like Cabelas. Avoid.
