These boots are great for a beginner - my son is a new snowboarder, and these boots are working out great. They're simple to tighten, VERY comfortable, and stylish to boot. These boots combined w/ the Burton Chopper snowboard are a great combo!
I bought these for my daughter two seasons ago. She is now 12, weighs 100lbs, rides 25-30 days/season and they're still in good condition and working great. They provide surprising support / stiffness considering they are a kids' boot. The construction is top notch, just like adult Burton boots. My daughter is an advanced boarder, but not a huge park rat. Although she has sessioned plenty of rails and even won 5 or 6 races on these boots - that said, if you don't already know, these are not snowboard race boots for any serious racer.
She has now grown out of her old ones so I'm going to order a size up.
