I tried on another style of Burtons in a store, and they fit true to size, so I thought the Emeralds would fit the same way. But when I ordered these in my regular size, I had to send them back and get a half size bigger. Aside from size issue, these boots have been great. I've only had the opportunity to use them a few times, but they're really comfortable. The speed lacing gets me on the hill a lot faster and without killing my fingers. The Emeralds are a solid all-mtn boot. Stiff for support and response but not too stiff. They work great with the Lexa Bindings I bought.

This is a pretty stiff boot, which is relatively comfy for how stiff it is, and gives you lots of carving control. My only teeny complaint is that although the thin laces are supposed to be kevlar and not be as delicate as they look, they worry me a little since you have to yank on them to tighten.

Gotta love the Girlfriend Boots!   01-18-08

My boyfriend and I call these the "girlfriend boots" cuz I am able to lace these up so much faster than the traditional lacing system. I could never get my old boots tight enough, so I spent ages trying to tie them. They keep my feet pretty warm too (I still like to use toe warmers on really cold days, so the Hot Pockets are awesome!). They fit great with my escapade bindings too!
