Ok, yea its expensive, but once you play with it, its freakin' amazing! the sound quality is crisp, the jacket is really comfortable and fits awesome. It didn't come with the iPod adapter but I called Burton and said I didn't get one, no questions asked I gave them my address and they shipped one for free! if you're gonna spend a lot of money on a jacket that will keep you dry and warm, why not get one with a kickin system in it too? Spend the money, get the jacket.
I bought this jacket in a 2006 clear out for the 2006/2007 riding season. The jacket was solid, but the electronics in it are not durable. I am rough with my gear and going down on ice and in trees the wiring started to short out. So I returned it to Burton, and they sent me a 2008 model to replace it. This jacket was built about the same, the jacket was solid, but the wiring again shorted out on me during the 2007/2008 riding season.
Buy a Burton for the quality of the jacket (another series I would HIGHLY recommend), but don't waste you time on audex series as I have had 2 jackets where neither made it through 1 full season of riding.
This jacket was great for one season, worked great, with some ergonomic issues, but minor. This season, the jacket completely fails to work. The cables are too short and disconnect all the time. Buzzing from the left speaker is all I can get. Oh well, was good for a season. I took extremely good care of everything by the way.
