Description of Black Diamond Velvet Ski - Women's: |
Carve the groomed, crud, and ice with the Black Diamond Women's Velvet Ski. With an 88mm platform underfoot, you'll have enough surface area to float the powder as well. Black Diamond's Dual Torsion Bow technology puts the torsional power of the ski farther into the tips and tails, which lends the ski stability at speed, while retaining an exceptionally smooth, forgiving nature. The Velvet's CNC-machined wood core provides a chatter-free ride, yet is light enough for backcountry touring. The slightly-skinny Velvet is meant for AT or tele skiers who love the powder, but often find themselves weaving through the trees and carving down steep hardpack.
Bottom Line: If you love to turn and carve, but still want soft snow versatility, grab the Velvet.

| I got these skis last year and LOVE them. They're so light that you don't even know you've got them on, turn on a dime for those tight tree runs, hold an edge on the groomers, float through the freshies and crush the mank. A super choice if you're looking for one ski to do it all. |

| Loving these skis 03-13-09 |

| I was looking for something in between my K2 She's Piste and my Karhu Jil's. A mid-fat, that can handle anything. I believe I found them in the Velvet. I only skied them once, but so far I am loving these skis. Very fun, good hold on firm, confident in crud, and light-weight. So happy w/my purchase. :-) |
