Black Diamond gave the Pursuit Glove a water-resistant, ultra-breathable Schoeller shell to protect your hand from the elements without making you overheat when the going gets strenuous. A long gauntlet keeps moisture out of this glove when you're wallowing through waist-deep snow on a summit push, and the Pittards leather palms add an extra level of durability you need for life in the mountains.
Bottom Line: Don't go into the mountains without gloves that can handle the job.
These gloves have an incredible fit and great dexterity. The softshell makes them just cling to your fingers. Nice gauntlet, light removable liner. No waterproof barrier, but I've become used to using (and drying) softshell gloves for the backcountry. I've actually been looking for gloves like the Pursuits, but actually these have a fatal flaw - no leather up the fingers. Not even one! Not only is this a wear issue, but the smooth softshell fingers decrease the dexterity. You only need to have a carabiner squirt out of your fingers a couple times before you stop using these. A shame really because the Pursuit has a lot to like otherwise. I'm hoping BD will come out with an improved Pursuit 2 next winter.
These gloves fit small! I ordered them for my husband, did all the measurements according to the size chart and they were too small. The fit seems to be more in line with the women's size chart...which means I got a great pair of gloves out of the deal!! I am more of a mitt girl, but really like the dexterity these afford, plus they are warm, breathable and durable. When I contacted BC.com about the fit issue they shipped us another pair for my hubby and covered the shipping (we're in Canada so it really counts for us!).
I have purchased many Black Diamond products and once again they came through for me. These gloves are great Thin and light and give good finger movement so you can do things with the gloves on. They kept my hands warm and dry all day while snowboarding. I would recomend them to anyone.
