Billabong really paid attention to details when tailoring the Alliance Jacket with oversized pockets, magnetic placket closures, and a leather insignia patch. The removable fur trim at the hood lets you decide how much flair you want that day. Billabong didn't sacrifice style for technical features but combined the best of both.

Good deal, but the hood is a mess   03-06-08

The jacket is a good jacket and a good deal with 10,000 mm waterproofing and breathability. However, the drawstring for the hood only goes around the face so it is hard to sinch up around your head, and the faux fur around the hood just hangs in your face. It's good that it is removable, but too bad that the hood isn't. There isn't very much pocket space - only two little ones inside, a little one on the sleeve, and two bigger ones in front that access from the sides.
