Description of Backcountry.com Cairn Fleece Jacket - Women's:
We're not going to put the Backcountry.com Goat on anything that can't take the abuse of our mountain lifestyles. With Backcountry.com's exclusive Women's Cairn Fleece Jacket, we sourced the production at a world-renowned factory in Canada to ensure the highest-quality fleece jacket possible. Not only that, but we found a way to offer this jacket at a price that's 50-80% less than comparable, name-brand pieces. The Cairn's Polartec Thermal Pro fleece creates a micro grid of insulating air pockets that retain body heat without adding weight or bulk. For cool weather hikes, its excellent breathability, superior moisture management, rapid drying, and durability keep you going on the trail. Meanwhile, the Cairn's contour fit and soft material feel right at home in the city. The Cairn Jacket's two hand pockets keep your digits warm, and a laminated wrist stash pocket hides your greenbacks. Lesser jackets go for nearly twice the price, so snag a Cairn before they all disappear.
Bottom Line: The Backcountry.com Cairn Fleece Jacket leads you on the path to warmth and durability.
First off I love your website but I have to say I was disappointed with this jacket. I bought the black Cairn Fleece jacket and the grey pockets on the outside were almost plastic like, they were a hard material. The fleece was warm but definitely not windproof. It started pilling within the first week I started wearing it. The fit wasn't very flattering and overall for the price it definitely wasn't worth it. I ended up returning it.
The problem with this jacket is that it is cut to fit short and hefty women. I bought a medium (because I am 5'9" and 135 lbs) and not only was the fleece too wide in the torso - the sleeves were ridiculously short (bordering three quarter length). I typically buy Medium from Northface and Arc'teryx and have never had this problem with sizing...meanining, I do not have freakishly long arms or narrow torso.
