Description of Alycium Paramount Component Jacket - Women's:
The Alycium Women's Paramount Component Jacket. There's a good reason Alycium calls this thing the Paramount—it's the best coat Alycium makes. Never heard of Alycium? It's a small company out of Breckenridge that's run by the same peeps that make Technine and Section. But since it's so hard to find, you'll probably be the only one at the resort wearing this jacket. The shell's Lycra wrist gaiters lock out snow, its 15K waterproof material shrugs off wet snowfalls, and a wicking mesh liner and no-snag underarm vents help keep you cool. Slip in the removable down vest for added insulation, or wear it by itself to the lodge. Alycium threw four pockets on the front and one on the sleeve, and it integrated a pass pocket that can fit your iPod or cell phone.
Bottom Line: Alycium's Paramount Component Jacket—because you're not a label whore.
The vest when zipped in gets in the way of the gator so it can't snap closed. This is a non-starter for me and will be returning the item. :(
The jacket fits true to size but is much boxier in real life than it looks like on the website.
I haven't worn it out on the slopes yet but so far so good. I really like the vest!! Just remember the jacket part is only a shell so be sure to wear a warm hoodie under it on the cooler days...
I have only had this jacket for few weeks, but so far awesome. It is very soft in the material and it feels lightweight when you where it. I had a Burton City Systems jacket before this and it gave me a head/shoulder ache, I guess from being so heavy. This jacket does not give me that problem.
As far as the snowskirt, it can definitely be used as it should if you zip up the down vest on its own and then zip the jacket up over it. That way you also stay warmer as there is no cold air getting into your core area. As far as the style, awesome, so pretty and very becoming.
