Description of Alycium Paramount Component Jacket - Men's: |
 |
Don't settle for the same ol' crap. The Alycium Men's Paramount Component Jacket gives you blizzard-ready waterproof protection and a style you won't see anywhere else on the mountain. Never heard of Alycium? It's a small company in the same brand base as Section, Technine, Nomis and MFM's SOUND—so you know this is the hot shit. The Paramount Component Jacket comes with a removable down vest for added insulation and options for when you're kicking it around town. Lycra wrist gaiters lock out pow and 15K waterproof material shrugs off wet snowfalls. A wicking mesh liner and no-snag underarm vents help keep you cool. Alycium threw on four exterior pockets for your on-mountain essentials, and integrated a pass pocket that can fit your iPod or cell phone.
Bottom Line: Break the mold with Alycium's Paramount Component Jacket.

| Whether it was on the concret SoCal slopes or up in Mammoth spring/blizzard weather, this jacket delivered.
I ride hard and the jacket can either keep me cool with just the pit zips opened or warm with the extra internal vest. I haven't crashed too hard, so I can't attest for the durability. As for stain resistance, it's an easily jacket to keep clean (I have the white one).
The cuffs don't tighten as much as I'd like so expect to wear your gloves over the sleeves if you usually prefer a snug fit. The pit zips are sometimes hard to open, but always easy to close. Then again, most jackets are like that. The chest pockets are surprisingly easy to open and close which I use the most to store the stuff I use a lot.
The only downside is that the jacket is seriously butt ugly. But considering the breathability, comfort and adaptability of this functional jacket, I could care less. |

| This jacket does look good, and has a lot of good attributes (good fit/features), but the weird thing is the fabric. It honestly feels like a regular polyester satin lined jacket with snowboard jacket features; which might be cool in a sense, but doesn't make me feel too confident in its durability. I haven't hit the slopes with it yet, but I'll report back when I do. |

| Purchased for 15year old son, who is very pleased. Plenty of storage and style w/ 3in1 functionality. 15K waterproofing has been bomb proof in the wet on MtHood. Plenty warm otherwise. Shell may prove a bit heavy in spring..we'll see. Fabric and lack of hardpoints up front allows for penguin-ing, big plus. The vest is very bright red..cool enough for dad, but not the kid. For the money, this was a score. |
