Arc'teryx created the Women's Scorpion Pants for skiers who ride hard and need a highly breathable softshell pant that keeps up with their pace. Gore-Tex Soft Shell Low Loft’s exterior feels soft in hand rather than stiff while a plush fleece interior warms your insides. This Arc’teryx softshell pant keeps you dry as you enjoy the fresh snow, and ankle gaiters keep the snow out of your boots. The Scorpion Pant’s meticulous design and well thought-out pattern provides a flattering fit without losing any of its performance value.
Bottom Line: If your hardshells can't keep up with you, hit the slopes in the Arc'teryx Scorpion Pants.
The Scorpion pants are my favorite skiing pants - practically waterproof, warm, yet breathable. I always turn to these pants whether I'm heading into the backcountry or just playing in the resort. I was worried about the lack of venting zips, but they breathe so well there isn't a need. They are simple in design, yet high in tech features. They are worth the price.
In general I love Arcteryx clothing and these pants are no exception. I recently used these pants on a ski trip and it kept me dry and warm. My base layer was a Patagonia Capilene 3. These pants were great and not once did I get went. I previously purchased the Scorpion jacket and these pants matched perfectly. Although the pants are expensive, I truly believe you pay for what you get.
The Arc'teryx Scorpion pant is made with Gore-Tex Softshell, and as such, are completely water-proof and breathable, not water resistant like it says here. In addition, the high-loft fleece inside adds insulation, without being bulky and "puffy" looking. I've got the men's version, and they will keep you dry in the worst snowstorms, and I usually wear a thin baselayer, or add light fleece pants, if it's really cold.
