Description of Arc'teryx Fugitive Hooded Jacket - Men's:
The Arc'teryx Fugitive Hoody puts you under cover. Wild nights in the village may bring the need for a low-profile the following day. A generous hood conceals your identity and large pockets bury any contraband that may have found its way onto your person. The Fugitive's rugged exterior repels weather and escapes the pitfalls of your every-day fleece. No one can touch the quality design and construction that Arc'teryx sews into every piece. Proven fabric joins forces with alpine intuition for a hoody that is fast on its feet. *Available for US shipment only.
I like outdoor clothing that is both functional and great looking - so you can wear it for a hike and then out at night in town. That's why I paid so much for this jacket. But here's a strange thing - the two front pockets are made out of mesh, so they offer no protection from the wind and cold that come up from the bottom (and there is no waist cinch to tighten it up around your waist) So the wind and cold comes up from the bottom and your hands freeze! It is really annoying not to be able to put your hands in your pockets to warm them up. I find this a very strange oversight by the designers, and it bothers me every time i wear the jacket, so I find I haven't been wearing it as much as my normal cotton hoodies, which keep my hands warmer. Too bad.
This is a good sweater - and it is just that, a light zip-up hoody. The price however makes this "jacket" ridiculous. The construction, material, properties etc. are all top notch, but not hundreds of dollars top notch. I love the wicking abilities, but again there is nothing that makes this seem above and beyond any other synthetic material "jacket" at a fraction of the price. If you buy this sweater, you have too much money to blow - take up gambling.
hey guys, this hoody is ok, definitely not worth the full price, its very thin and not really any more wind resistant than a normal fleece. it is good under a short waist cut shell as it is nicely fitted and cut short at the waist also so it doesn't stick out. i prefer merino to layer so this jacket doest get to see any real action only gets worn around town.
